Christine Danette Slot

Christine Danette Slot, 61, affectionately known to family and friends as “Chris,” passed away at

her home in Hooper on Thursday, December 28, 2023. Born in Ogden, Utah on August 3, 1962, Chris was the middle child of Homer Robert “Bob” and Janet Sarah Hoskins Dodgen.

Chris attended Roosevelt Elementary, T. H. Bell Junior High School, and Bonneville High

School, and accomplished a career as a cosmetologist.

On May 19, 1979, she married the love of her life and the other half of her soul, Kenneth

“Kenny” Gary Slot, in Roy. Soon after she gave birth to her firstborn, Heather. One year later

she had twins, Amber and Jeromy. Then finally the baby, Brady. She loved her kids with all of

her heart, but her greatest joy was her six grandchildren, and her “fur-babies.”

She loved going camping, jeepin’ in Moab, going to watch Kenny play guitar with his band, and

anything that involved being with her family.

Chris is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Kenny Slot; kids, Heather (Jack) Burton,

Amber (Cody) Thornock, Jeromy (Melany) Slot, and Brady Slot, all of the Ogden area;

grandkids, Nikole Charlton, Korbyn Slot, Alexandria Thornock, Marley Thornock, Brock

Burton, and Skyler Jo Slot; her parents, Bob and Janet Dodgen, sister, Candace Baird, and

brother, Robert Dodgen; and by eleven nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 2 to 5 pm on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at the

Southwest Branch Library located at 2039 W 4000 S in Roy, Utah.
