Listen to Obituary

Christie Ann Ochoa, 54, returned to our Father in Heaven on January 9, 2026.

Christie was born on July 12, 1971, in Agana Heights, Guam, to R. Douglas and Cherrie Lister Jacob, while her father served in the Navy. She arrived with the cutest head full of red hair and grew up in Roy, Utah, where she was a proud Girl Scout and graduated from Roy High School.

She pursued a career in healthcare, becoming a CNA and EMT, and truly loved helping others. Christie was incredibly giving—always the first to lend a hand to anyone in need.

In 1995, she married Brian Stucker and they moved to Arkansas, where they welcomed two children whom she loved with all her heart, Ashley and Ethan. She also cherished her bonus daughter, Haley. Though she and Brian later divorced, her love for her children was unwavering.

On September 8, 2008, Christie married Daniel Ochoa, instantly gaining a beautiful, blended family. Dan brought two sons, two daughters-in-law, and six grandchildren into her life, and she embraced them all with open arms. Together, they were sealed in the Jordan River Temple.

Christie worked as a home health care provider. She also worked at Walmart, where she made many dear friends.

Christie was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings throughout her life. Her favorite was Young Womens President, where she had the joy of attending girls camp with her daughter.

She took immense pride in her children’s accomplishments and bragged about them to everyone she met. Christie loved the mountains. Her favorite place was at the cabin up Chalk Creek.

She loved riding horses, fishing in the lakes and streams, and embracing the outdoors. A true daredevil, much like her Grandpa Jacob, she was always ready to try anything.

Christie was kind, with a big heart with a little bit of spice. In 2023, she moved back to Utah to help care for her parents, showing once again her selfless nature.

She loved the Lord and our Savior deeply. Though we miss her so very much, we find comfort in knowing we will see her again through the Plan of Salvation.

Christie is survived by her loving husband, Dan Ochoa; her children, Ashley (David) Chang and Ethan Stucker; her parents, Doug and Cherrie Jacob; her siblings, Spencer (Angela) Jacob, Machelle (Brian) Erickson, and Heather (Derric) Morse; stepsons Andrew (Nikki) Ochoa and Tyler (Lairen) Ochoa; step-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great-nephews, a great-niece; and countless friends whose lives she touched.

Christie’s vibrant spirit, generous heart, and love for her family and the Lord will live on in all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
