Charles S Diarte

October 3, 1942 — November 19, 2023

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Charles S. Diarte, 81, suddenly passed away in the comfort of his home on November 19, 2023. He was born on October 3, 1942 in Brigham City, UT a son of Harry and Amelia Fraga Diarte.

Charles grew up in Ogden, UT and later met Jessie Ramirez. They were married May 29, 1965 and had two children, Desiree and Derek, and later divorced. He met the love of his life, Anita Garcia, in 1969. They had three children, Travis, Chuck Jr., and Orlando, and later got married on May 20, 2005.

Charles worked at Union Pacific Railroad for 25 plus years and retired in 2007.  He didn’t want to stop there so he worked part time at Frank Edwards Auto Parts.

He had so many people that he loved and that loved him right back. He was always making everyone around him laugh with his quick comebacks and smart remarks. And oh that laugh of his was contagious. One thing we will always remember about him is the nicknames he would always give to everyone.

He had a strong passion for golf and also liked to fish and bowl on his down time.  He was a true Raiders fan all his life.  He loved to watch his Raiders play and has been to many of their games with his family and friends. As much as he liked to do all those things, he also loved to be at home on his favorite recliner watching his TV.

Our heartfelt thanks to our extended family and friends for their love and support during this time. His absence is deeply felt, but we know he will always be watching over us. An extra big thank you to their comadre, Judy Romero, for her love, support, and selfless care to Charles and Anita. She took Anita to run all the errands when Charles couldn’t drive. She also took Charles to his doctor appointments and picked up groceries, prescriptions and everything in between. We can’t thank her enough for always being there.

Charles is survived by his wife, Anita Garcia Diarte; his kids, Desiree (Gerald) Lamb, Derek (Rochelle) Langenwalter, Travis (Jodee) Diarte, Chuck Diarte Jr., and Orlando (Kim) Diarte; his grandchildren, Kayla, Bailee, Jazmin, Brandee, Dimitri, Kyah, Desmond, Dahvian, Maxwell, Mia, and Oliver; and his great-grandchildren, Oakleigh, Jhett, Remy, Harper, Jerzi and Ezekiel; his siblings, Dave (Mary) Diarte, Robert (Mary Hellen) Diarte, and Natalie (Kit) Hunter; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Charles was preceded in death by his father, Harry S. Diarte; his mother, Amelia Fraga Diarte; his sister, Rose (Patrick) Smith; along with one brother and one sister.
