Charles Lewis Crawford passed away peacefully Friday, October 3, 2025 at his home in Layton after a long battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). Charles was born January 24, 1962 at Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, Texas to David and Florale Crawford.

Charles graduated from Layton High School in 1980. A short time later he joined the Marine Corp Reserves.

Charles was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in a number of positions. He also served as a missionary for the church in the Washington Spokane Mission.

Charles learned drafting at the Phoenix Institute of Technology in Phoenix, Arizona. He worked in fast food restaurants, nurseries, and commercial mailing services. He loved riding his bicycle and his favorite hobby was model railroads. He especially enjoyed learning about steam locomotives. He always loved to go and watch whenever one came through the area.

He was survived by his parents, two brothers Douglas and Ernest, and two sisters Lisa (Bob) Thompson and Tia Mari (Mike) Boster.

The family would like to thank all of those from Caregiver Support for all they did to help him during the last few months.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton.
