After living a life dedicated to serving others, our Mother passed away on May 15, 2016.  The second of four children, Catherine was born on March 25, 1931, in Logan, Utah to Joseph Raphael and Ruth Olson Eliason.

Catherine married Ira Gorman Liljenquist on September 29, 1949 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  They were blessed with eight children, Joseph (Celeste) Liljenquist, Ann (Bruce) Gladwell, Elizabeth (Clyde) Mueller, Patrice (Kim) Boerens, Barbara (Kyle) Curtis, Katie (Kirk) Smith, Lynn Liljenquist, and John (Marilyn) Liljenquist.

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and over the course of 85 years, she never doubted.  Her favorite songs were “Love at Home” and “I Wonder When He Comes Again”.  She will be remembered as being gentle and charitable, and for spending each day of her life caring for family and friends.  The first thing she asked when she came to visit was, “What can I do to help?”.

Catherine is survived by her children, her sister, Gloria Eliason; and her brother, Glen Eliason.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Gorman Liljenquist; her daughter, Lynn Liljenquist; her grandson, Sam Liljenquist; and her brother, Ray Eliason.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Hyrum Cemetery.
