OGDEN a€" Castle P. Mitchell, 82, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at her home in Ogden of causes incident to age.

She was born January 13, 1925 in Grassy Creek, North Carolina, the daughter of Dewey Paul and Annie Wood Plummer. She was raised and educated in North Carolina where she graduated from Virginia-Carolina High School.

On March 26, 1946, Castle married Eugene Starling in Bristol, Tennessee. Eugene preceded her in death on June 19, 1959. She married Owen Jay Mitchell on November 24, 1960 in Sumter, South Carolina.

During her life Castle was fortunate to have the opportunity to travel and live in a variety of places: Marion, VA; San Antonio, TX; Fairbanks, AK; Sumter, SC; Homestead, FL; and Ft.Walton Beach, FL as well as Ogden.

She retired as a warehouse manager of the Army Air Force Exchange Systems (AAFEX).

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Castle enjoyed gardening, cross stitching, crocheting and reading for pleasure.

Surviving are her husband Owen Jay of Ogden; two daughters, Phyllis S. Linale, Lake Mary, FL; Linda S. Furber, Ogden; one grandchild, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Castle was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and her first husband, Eugene.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

Friends may call at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
