Carolyn Dunlap Goodworth Ford

March 24, 1942 — November 2, 2024

Carolyn Dunlap Goodworth Ford, 82, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on November 2, 2024. Born March 24,1942, in Tooele, Utah, to Warren and Helen Dunlap, Carolyn was the older sister to Pamela Dunlap Agren.

The sisters grew up in Salt Lake City, where they were raised by their loving and devoted parents. Carolyn’s childhood was filled with warmth, encouragement, and determination. A bright and driven student, Carolyn graduated in 1960 as valedictorian from Granite High School, and then she went on to attend and graduate from the University of Utah. She met Richard L. Goodworth at LDS Institute activities. They were married on September 6, 1963, in the Salt Lake City Utah Temple. In 1972, she earned a Masters of Education from Utah State University.

She was a devoted wife to her husband, Richard, for 39 years, and a loving mother to their five children: Allison, Kristin, Shannon, Warren, and Megan.

Richard and Carolyn’s lives took them throughout Utah, Colorado, and Idaho. Carolyn was an educator to countless students in the art of home economics, family development, and career exploration. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served in various capacities including Stake Relief Society President, Young Women’s and as a temple worker at the Ogden and Bountiful Temples.

Carolyn was a talented cook, known for creating delicious meals that brought her family and friends together. She found joy in sewing and embroidery. Carolyn was deeply committed to preserving her family’s history. Her home was always warm and welcoming, and no one ever left her table without being well-fed and cared for.

Richard passed away suddenly in 2002. Carolyn married Leland D. Ford on June 7, 2008. Though their marriage was short due to the untimely passing of Leland, the union had a lasting bond between the Goodworth and Ford families.

Carolyn is survived by Brett (Cristy) Burton, Kristin (Scott) Haderlie, Shannon (Scott) Bray, Warren (Allison) Goodworth, Megan (Weylin) Richards; and the Ford family: Stacilee (Matthew) Hosford, Corey (Cynthia) Ford, Taunalyn Ford, Shanadee (Christopher) Stevenson, Brook (Susan) Ford. Also survived by Pamela (Stuart) Agren, and 43 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren across both families. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Allison (Brett) Burton, both husbands, and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday November 8, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fiddlers Creek Chapel, 380 S. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Family and friends may visit Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
