Caroline Nielson Black
Caroline Nielson Black passed away January 30, 2012 at her home in Ogden, Utah. She was 6 weeks short of her 100th birthday. She was born in Blanding, Utah on March 17, 1912 to Jens Nielson and Jennie Roberts. Her father and grandfather were hole-in-the-Rock Pioneers, and helped establish Bluff and Blanding, Utah.
She attended Henager Business College in Ogden and Utah State University. She married Kimball Black in Ogden and was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in Santa Maria, California then for the past 66 years in Ogden. Kimball died October 16, 1980.
She concludes a life made rich by her contagious enthusiasm, which was manifest in her love of people, life, nature, church, family, home and friends. Her easy, joyous laugh is missed.
Caroline is survived by daughter, Margaret (Robert) Steuer; sons, Kimball Dean (Beth) Black, Clyde Nielson (Kathleen) Black, and Kirk Douglas (Tammy) Black; 19 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren.
In compliance with her wishes, there will be a private service for the immediate family. Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., alongside her beloved husband. Services entrusted to Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
She would like to thank all those who so graciously served and helped her. Please know she loves you!
