Carole Ann Heninger Thompson, 87, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. With a serene smile that reflected the joy she brought to others, Carole’s life was a shining example of kindness, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Born on August 16, 1937, to Earl S. Heninger and Juanita Siddoway Heninger, Carole was a beacon of love and service throughout her life.
She married her eternal companion, Gordon Brent Thompson, on October 2, 1954. Together, they recently celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary surrounded by family. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, a testament to their faith and enduring love.
Carole and Brent were blessed with six wonderful children who brought them great joy, Carolyn Dandoy, Linda (Bryan) Wallace, David (Laurie) Thompson, Steven Thompson, Alan (Michele) Thompson, and Curtis (Kathy) Thompson. She adored her 18 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them. Her family was her greatest joy, and her unwavering love and nurturing spirit will remain treasured memories for all who were blessed to call her mother, grandmother, or great-grandmother.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Carole dedicated her life to serving others. She held many callings, including in the Relief Society, as ward and stake Primary President, and as a Den Mother for Cub Scouts. Alongside her husband, she served multiple missions to the Washington D.C. Temple and later as an ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple.
Professionally, Carole excelled in every role she took on. She worked in accounting at First Security Bank, where her precision earned her numerous awards. Later, as the head secretary at Roy Elementary School, she became a beloved figure to students and parents alike, embodying kindness and compassion.
Carole found joy in life’s simple pleasures: reading, crocheting, scrapbooking, and, most of all, gathering her family for cherished celebrations. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and radiant smile touched everyone she met. She showed us all how to live a life of grace and love, and we will strive to honor her legacy by being kind and gentle, just as she taught us through her example.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Juanita Heninger; her sisters, Shirley Pewtress and Pat Hopkin; her brother, Earl Heninger; and her grandson, Matthew Dandoy.

Though our hearts ache at her passing, we find comfort in the legacy of the love she leaves behind. We will miss her dearly but will strive to carry forward the light she shared with all of us. Her gentle presence and the lessons of kindness and faith she imparted will forever guide us and inspire us to live as she did—with love, compassion, and a radiant, peaceful smile.
