Carol Jeane McCall Moke, 89, of Ogden, Utah, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2026, of natural causes. Carol was born January 3, 1937, in Ogden, Utah, to Alton and Lydia McCall.
She grew up roller skating and met the love of her life, Lonnie Duane Moke Sr., at a dance at Berthana Roller Rink. As she would always say, “he picked me.” While not much of a roller skater, Lonnie would take Carol skating just to watch her roll around the rink, winning a few competitions. They soon married on July 31, 1954, and were later sealed for all eternity in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ogden Temple.
They wasted no time starting their family and had seven children. She was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved to pass the time doing genealogy research.
She attended night school and got her diploma in 1968. If she wasn’t watching game shows, you would find her watching the Hallmark Channel.
Her children and family loved her hot tamale pie. Carol will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Vicki (Bart) Amsler, Tina Moke, Kathy Moke, Teresa (Ross) McCord, Tamara (Vaughn) Maxfield; and 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding Carol in death are her husband, Lonnie Duane Moke Sr.; daughter, Lonna (Darrell) Gardner; son, Lonnie Duane Moke Jr.; foster children, Jimmy (Char) and Johnny (Sarah) Graham; grandchildren, Desteny, Brandon, and Aidan; and second husband, Edward Essler.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Abbey from Rocky Mountain Hospice and to Haven Creek Care Center.
