Carol Jean Lewis

September 30, 1933 ~ December 5, 2021

Our precious mother, Carol Jean Lewis, passed away on December 5, 2021. Carol was born September 30, 1933 in Chichasha, OK, to Charles Rhodes and Trethel B. Churchwell.

A lifelong learner and educator Carol earned a BA in Business and Economics and her Master in Business Education from Eastern New Mexico University. She taught high school and junior college retiring from Temple Junior College in Temple, TX after a 40-year career.

Carol loves the Lord Jesus Christ and was a decades long community volunteer and Sunday School Teacher. She always expressed her love of the Lord and her family.

She loved new experiences, adventures and making new friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her life chapter would be 1 Corinthians Chapter 13.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert L. “Bud” Lewis. She is survived by her five children, Keith Rhodes Martin, Kim Martin, Kraig Daniel Martin, Buddy Lewis and Gayle Bennett and their spouses; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Carol was a cancer survivor and loved all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her two precious great-great-grands immensely and would ask, if so inclined, to please donate to the American Lung Association, Samaritan's Purse or Cal Farley Boys Ranches in lieu of flowers.

Graveside services will be held at the Belvedere Memorial Park, 3405 Arden Rd., San Angelo, TX 76901.
