Carol Arline Clark Dunford
October 20, 1926 ~ March 10, 2012
Our beloved mother and grandmother stepped through death''s door with great faith and dignity on March 10, 2012, to be greeted by her loving husband, parents, and siblings.
Mom was the fifth of seven children born to Thomas Edgar and Charlotte Parry Clark, on October 20, 1926, in Park City, Utah where she lived until age 12. After moving to Sandy, mom graduated from Jordan High School and later attended the University of Utah, where she was President of Delta Gamma. After graduating with a degree in Textiles, mom served a mission to the Eastern States Mission, where she met her eternal companion-to-be, Robert Moroni Dunford. Mom and dad were married on June 5, 1953, in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Kanab, Bancroft, ID; Provo, and finally Kaysville, where they raised their four children. Mom taught school for 23 years and cherished her association with her students and fellow teachers. She served on the Davis Education Association Board and was active in civic and political matters. Mom enjoyed her association with her friends of DUP and Lantern Club, always keeping a smile on everyone''s face. In 2004 she was honored as "Mother of the Year" by Kaysville City.
Mom was a stalwart member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities, including two missions with dad, and one at the Church Offices after dad''s passing. Because of her love of the gospel of Jesus Christ, she served in many teaching capacities, humbly and boldly sharing her faith and testimony with others. Mom enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, and handiwork, but she especially enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. Seeing them succeed and make good choices was her greatest desire and joy. Mom''s wonderful sense of humor and positive outlook on life blessed everyone around her.
Carol is survived by her children, Jefferson T. Dunford (Willie), Charlotte Fischer (Robert), Robert M. Dunford Jr., (Jane), Elizabeth Rose (Brent); and by 15 loving grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Katherine Mumford, Charlotte Cundick (Robert M.), brother, Thomas H. Clark (Bonnie), brothers-in-law, Thomas J. Dunford (Joan), Joseph W. Dunford, Lewis C. Elison (Dona), sisters-in-law, Leah Christensen, Ann Marie Budge (Ned C), Nola Dunford.
