Our beloved mother and grandmother, Carol June Child Charlesworth, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2023 after gracefully fighting her long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on the June 29, 1933 in Kanesville, Utah to Nathan and Blanche Child. In her teenage years she helped her family with farming, and she also boarded with older couples in the Ogden area, helping to care for them including yard care, which she attributed to her life-long skill of keeping up a beautiful yard.
Carol married Kenneth Wayne Charlesworth Sr. on April 2, 1955 and they had 4 children. She worked full time throughout her life and retired at the age of 75 from Weber State Credit Union, where she was very much loved and appreciated by her customers and co-workers. Carol loved history and especially family history. Carol also had a genuine curiosity about all cultures and walks of life. She also was a very talented porcelain painter, bunka embroidery artist, story teller, and cook.
She was a very dedicated mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren adored her and loved her. She organized parties, creative events, and meals that provided countless hours of fun and love together.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings throughout her life to include, at age 80, Ward and Stake Historian.
Carol’s soul was born to help others and to work. It seems she was always doing one or the other. She will always be remembered for her service to everyone and anyone who was in her life.
A special thanks to the many care givers (Peachtree and A+ Hospice) and others that ministered to Carol over the past few years. Your personal touch will never be forgotten.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Monique (Paul Schroeder) Barszcz; and sons, KC (Salee) Charlesworth, and Jeff (Katherine) Charlesworth; siblings, Loyal, Lee, and Randy Child; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Blanche; husband, Kenneth; son, Steven Charlesworth; and sister Norma Stromberg.
