Carol Brimley

Carol Maude Harwood Brimley passed away peacefully early Monday morning May 30, 2016.

She was born January 4, 1936 in Salt Lake City to Maude and Ernest Harwood.

She will be greatly missed by her husband William Louis Brimley and their six children Pam (Danny) Bridenstine, Mary (Steve) Cobb, Karen (Kory) Larsen, Michael (Nancy) Brimley, Susanne Brimley "Sis", and Kathleen (Brandon) Parke. Carol was a loving, passionate and devoted grandmother to her 25 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. Carol and Bill would have celebrated their 63 years of marriage August 7th and were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1953.

She has lived in Layton Utah for the past 53 years where she was a member of the 11th ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for most of her life.

Her life was dedicated to her family as wonderful wife and mother. She emulated charity as she served all who knew her by sharing her garden of beautiful flowers and produce handpicked and lovingly made into bouquets of beautiful flowers, jams, pies, salsas, and sauces.  These were always shared with much love and compassion with neighbors, friends and family.  Her specialties are cherished as her families and friends favorite recipes and warm our hearts.

Many would agree Carol had a heart big enough for everyone. She was a Mother to many and one of the most humble and generous woman that we all have known.

Her closets were always filled with baby clothes, children's clothing and handmade quilts to share with all who needed them. Handmade dresses, nightgowns and blankets were given to every grandchild and great grand children. Many outside of the family were recipients of her quilts as well.

There was little that she couldn't do. She lived by the Motto: Hard work and little play make a very productive day! Her hands were never idle!

She loved music and shared it often playing the piano and singing beautiful songs at family gatherings.
She has served faithfully in church callings in all areas as a Relief Society President, Young Women's President, Primary counselor and in the Layton Utah Stake. She also served her Community as PTA President more than once and helped open education services and opportunities for Autistic Children.

She was employed at Barlow Realty in finance for over 25 years and later as a loan officer and Account Adviser at Zion's Bank in Layton until 2011.

Funeral services for Carol will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Layton 6th Ward Chapel, 1290 N Church St. Layton, UT.  Friends may visit family Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment, Lakeview Cemetery, Bountiful, Utah.
