Carla Rose Thomas Olsen

ROY - Carla Rose Thomas Olsen, 61, died Monday, February 20, 2012 at McKay-Dee Hospital. Born in Ogden on August 13, 1950 to Gilbert E. and Alta Lorene Tracy Thomas, Carla was raised in Warren (Blossom) and graduated from Weber High School.

Carla married Danny Ray Olsen on February 24, 2001 in Plain City. She worked most of her life in various positions at Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 2005.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a Daughter of the Utah Pioneers, as well as a member of the Eagles.

Carla enjoyed collecting stuffed bears and porcelain dolls, traveling - especially to Wendover, and watching the Utah Jazz.

She dearly loved spending time with her grandson, her ''heart'', Braiden.

Carla is survived by her husband Danny Olsen, Roy; children, Shawna (Terry) Mosley, Roy; Brandy (Wil) Clark, Roy; Troy D. Lund, Plain City; Sherry Manore, Plain City; and; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sister, Jolene (Larry) Sexton, West Haven; brother-in-law, Gene Rohwer, Plain City; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother-in-law, and two nieces.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 24, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Warren City Cemetery.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Peter Clemens, Dr. Carl Gray, Dr. Dennis Sabotka, and Dr. Welling, and all of their staff plus the ER and ICU staff at McKay-Dee Hospital.
