Carl Dennis

Carl ‘Eldon’ Dennis, 81, passed away in his family home of 57 years on November 17, 2017.  He was born in Marysvale, Utah to Carl E. and Heartha Henry Dennis on April 29, 1936. He married Helen Tate on August 8, 1958.  They are the parents of three children, Denise, Victoria Lynn (deceased), Russell.

Carl lived life to the fullest, enjoying and competing in his favorite hobbies which included carving and building his own guns to use in trapshooting. He loved hunting, fishing, golf, bowling and spending time with his grandchildren teaching them his talents.  Whatever he set his mind to, he excelled.

He served his country in the Air Force during his early years and spoke fondly of his travels dancing through Europe.  He worked hard and travelled extensively during his long 56 year civilian career as a quality engineer with Sperry Unisys/L3.  His retirement at 70 years old did not stop him from working part-time at his favorite location, Davis Golf Course.

Carl was known as a generous, giving and caring man.  He would give anything he had, to anyone.  His passion and love was to live, play and care for his best friend and wife of 59 years, Helen.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Victoria Lynn, his parents, and second mother Ida Nay Dennis, grandson Justin Wayne Hunter, and son-in-law Ralph E. Burroughs  He is survived by his wife Helen, son Russell Eldon Dennis, Kaysville, daughter Denise (Dennis) Burroughs, Manassas, VA, two  grandchildren, Cole Hunter and Lyndsey Turner, three great-grandchildren, brother Roger (Carla) Dennis, Marysvale, UT, sisters Glenna (Woodie, deceased) Winget, Auburn, CA, Linda (Jim) Simmons, Eden, UT, Carolyn Dennis (Earl) Martinson, Salt Lake City, UT, Kathy (Lynn) Rigby, Layton, UT and Kaylynn of Ogden, UT.

A memorial visitation will be held Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the residence 219 W. 350 S.  Kaysville, Utah.

Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. Layton, Utah.
