Calvin Belnap Ross, age 76, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. He was born on April 21, 1949, in Ogden, UT as the third child of Elma Hall Belnap Ross and Aaron Belnap Ross.
He grew up in Ogden, Utah, attending Wasatch Elementary and Bonneville High School, then went on to attend Weber State College (now University) and finally Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles, CA. He learned to play the cornet in 1960 and became first chair for the Utah All-State Band in 1967, which earned him a music scholarship to Weber State. He had a love of skiing and made the Intermountain Junior National Ski Team 3 years in a row. He was also honored with a skiing scholarship to join the Wild Cat Ski Team at Weber State where he was a pre-med major with music as a minor.
On April 5, 1971, Calvin married Gail Bieler Waterlyn and they had six children between 1978 and 1988. They were married for 35 years and raised their family together in San Juan Capistrano, CA. He loved the outdoors, going to the beach and cycling, even competing in several triathlons. He was a risk taker, a hang glider, a fast driver, and especially loved Porsches. He called himself “Cal, the Kamikaze Kid”.
Calvin was known for the care that he gave to his patients as a Doctor of Chiropractic. He was passionate about longevity and natural medicine utilizing chiropractic care, herbs, essential oils, and homeopathy. He loved natural medicine, and said he was “able to see miracles in healing every day, because of the miracle of our wonderful bodies. The intelligence (the spirit) that built the body should be able to heal the body if given a chance.” He also authored health books called “Your Hormoneous Life” and “Back Help”.
Calvin will be missed by his children, Brooke Ross, Logan (Carol) Ross, CheyAnn Prestidge (Adam), Brittany Ross, Hunter Ross (Vicki) and, Braden Ross; and his seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Sandra Shupe, Larry Ross, Bonie Ross, and Marlin Ross.

A graveside will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
