Bret Paul O’Driscoll entered this world quickly on a cold February morning in 1963, in the front seat of his parents’ 1956 Ford. It was a story he loved to share as we traveled the road between Coalville and Kamas. He left this world on a cold January morning in 2026, finally free from dementia and once again able to serve others, as he was welcomed home into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
Bret’s wish was to remain at home as his disease progressed, and as a family— with the help of seen and unseen angels— we were able to honor that wish. We find comfort in knowing that he is now free again to serve, to love, and to fully be himself.
Bret loved many things, first and foremost his family and his Savior, Jesus Christ. He took pride in his work at Nutraceutical, which allowed him to provide for his family, and he faithfully served wherever he was called in church. He embraced his many Scouting responsibilities and found great joy in watching his Scouts grow, serve, and succeed. He also loved wrestling, coaching, and helping youth, football (Go Minnesota Vikings!), and countless other interests that brought people together.
Some of Bret’s fondest memories came from his childhood in Evanston, Wyoming, and from the summers spent with his siblings and parents at the Mill Creek Guard Station. His mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints took him to New York City and Bermuda— experiences that later inspired a family trip back to New York, where he enjoyed showing his family the places where he once served.
Bret was born to Earl J and Arlene (Moore) O’Driscoll. He is survived by his siblings, Rick (Glena), Clay (Linda), Jason (Linda), Gina, Sara (Amron), and Jill, whom he never met but lovingly referred to as “Shorty Jill.”
In 1991, Bret married Trish (Patricia Yardley) in the Manti Temple. Their marriage became a partnership that sustained them through life’s joys and challenges. Together they raised four sons, Paul (Eliza), Brian (Marlee), Michael, and Scott (Kortni). Bret’s grandchildren include his beloved helper, Brooklyn, and soon-to-be-born Montana.
Bret loved deeply and was deeply loved. He was quiet and strong, and his testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ never wavered. He cherished time with his family and friends. Until we meet again— love you!
