Bret L Etterlein

Born to Francis Etterlein and Nyla Lee on January 27, 1959 in Ogden, UT. He passed away November 6, 2023 in Ogden, UT enjoying what he loved, riding his Harley.

When he wasn’t riding his motorcycle, he was working on it, fixing it up or making plans on what to do next. The freedom he felt and the joy it brought to him will be
remembered.  

Bret worked in the manufacturing industry as a welder, his job and coworkers brought joy and friendships.

He cherished spending time with his family whether it be over dinner, or just stopping by for conversation.  

His relationship with his grandkids was special. Either wrestling around with Brandon or just giving him a hard time, he was extremely proud of him and consistently encouraged him to work toward his goals. Grandpa attended every football and baseball game he could. He would come over to “work” on his bike and instruct Brandon on exactly how to do it and taught him you can never polish enough!!   

Bailey had his heart. He looked forward to the three hugs he got whenever he would come and go each time. He cheered her on at her softball and basketball games. Providing the forever approving grandpa hugs. Bret would proudly wear the bracelets she would make him or display the artwork she did around his house. Their bond was truly a sight to see. 

Bret is survived by his son, Travis (Hillary) Brechbill of Hooper; grandchildren, Brandon and Bailey; his great-aunt, Nancy (Denis) Mildon of Farr West; cousins, Jim (Jodie) Gifford of Riverdale and Traci (Troy) Sato of Clearfield; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and his dear friend, Leslie Marsh. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Vonae Etterlein.

Friends may visit with family on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
