Listen to Obituary

Brent Christian Eddy passed away on March 31, 2026 at his home in Sunset, Utah.

Brent had the kind of humor that could light up any room—he could make anyone laugh, no matter the moment. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need without hesitation. If you were lucky enough to call Brent your friend, you were truly one of the luckiest people in the world. Everyone who knew him loved him, because he was simply so easy to love.

Brent Christian Eddy came into the world in Seoul Korea on June 10, 1982. His name then was Kim Jung Kwan. To his adoptive parents, Shelley Jean Parker Eddy and Walter Raleigh Eddy Junior, he became their greatest Christmas gift ever when he arrived on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1982 in Seattle, Washington by airplane, accompanied by a social worker from Korea and was given to his parents who took him home to Boise, Idaho, where he was permanently adopted and lived until 1985 when his family, Walt and Shelley, and siblings, Amy, Michael, and Kiele, moved to Layton, Utah. He was the youngest, one of three adopted children and one biological child.

He always amazed his family and friends. He learned quickly to walk and to talk and to read, because his mother read with him nightly, and soon had him reading tons of books and Momma kept a record of it, also. Brent was an artist, whether it was drawing, painting, sculpting, carpentry, and even writing. He delighted those around him. As a boy, he played soccer, baseball, and football. In high school he was a wrestler. He took third in the regionals as a wrestler for his weight category.

As a child, Brent dreamed of becoming a pilot, and he carried a lifelong passion for aviation—he seemed to know every detail about every atplane ever made. He went on to work in construction, where he truly found his craft in finish carpentry. Everything he created was a work of art, built with care, precision, and pride.

On September 29, 2018, Brent met the love of his life, Alana Covert. They were married on November 27, 2019. With his signature charm, he once told her, “If you marry me, I’ll make you an ACE—the prettiest card in the deck.” Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and partnership.

Brent is survived by his loving wife, Alana Eddy; his father, Walt Eddy; his siblings, Kiele, Michael, and Amy and her husband, Steven Farnsworth and their sons, Logan and Percy, and many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother Shelley Jean Parker Eddy.

Brent will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his laughter, kindness, and love will live on in every life he touched.
