Brenda Anderson

December 17, 1955 — November 3, 2023

Our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother returned home to our Heavenly Father on November 3, 2023, after a hard battle with COPD. Brenda Anderson was born in Detroit, Michigan, on December 17, 1955, to Flem Anderson and Reba Neal. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ronnie Anderson; sister, Tammy Spencer; brother-in-law, Butch Allen; and grandson, Brendan Cruz.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, Rebekah (Daryl) Oman; step-daughter, Jodie (Brian) Dunn; grandchildren, Kylee (Philip) Butler, Kelton Oman, Kolden Oman, and Liberty Ussery; great-granddaughter, Emma Butler; brother, Danny (Pam) Anderson; sister, Linda Allen; brother-in-law, Greg Spencer; and many nieces and nephews.

Brenda was an extraordinarily generous and hard-working person. She often had two or more jobs and could always be counted on to make time to help someone in need. Before having to retire for health reasons, she worked at Dan’s Tire and Cal-Ranch in Vernal, Utah. She loved her co-workers and all the people she served; she hated having to retire.

Brenda loved being a grandmother and, most recently, great-grandmother. She loved taking her grandchildren on adventures riding horses and 4-wheelers, watching movies, going for crazy large amounts of ice cream, and even playing video games. She couldn’t get enough time spoiling them.

Brenda always had room for one more animal, and everyone knew it. She often came home to a new pet that had been dropped off for her to care for. Although she loved all animals, her great passion was horses and her dog Lily. Brenda raised and showed quarter horses most of her life, and she especially loved giving riding lessons to the youth. Brenda was very generous and always willing to help anyone.

We appreciate all the love and support we have received during this difficult time.

Brenda didn’t want traditional services, but we are going to honor her generosity and loving spirit by holding a celebration of life on January 6, 2024, in Vernal, UT. As we get closer, more details will be posted on her social media accounts. In order to make the celebration even more special and personal for her friends and family, we invite everyone to email their favorite memories for us to share during the celebration. All loving memories can be emailed to BrendaAndersonMemories@gmail.com. Please also let us know how you knew her and if you would like your memory to be shared anonymously.
