Bradley Dennis Nelson, born March 13,1956, passed away unexpectedly at home on April 17, 2025. He was born to Dennis Lyman Nelson (deceased) and LaNae Flowers Nelson Dalton Brewster (Jim) in Murray, Utah and was the eldest of 4 children; Cindy (Scott) Kay, Dale (Robyn) Nelson, and Brenda (David) Jensen.
Brad attended Murray High School and played the coronet in the marching band. After high school he studied to become a journeyman electrician. He worked for thirty-eight years at Diamond Electric, and then later at ProServ Crane where he was not only a devoted worker, but a mentor to many.
He married Toni Densley and later divorced. They had a son, Bradley Brock, and a daughter, Katie LaNae (Aaron Lee) Day, with granddaughters Kallisa Preston, and Scarlett Kaylee.
He later met and married the love of his life, Diane Toyn, and became a stepdad to daughters Angie and Nicole with grand kids: Ashton, Faith (Nick), Oakley (Jillian), Lexeigh, Kodie (Trey), and Jordyn (deceased); and a great grandchild, Lucian.
An avid outdoorsman, Brad enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping, and most recently was very proud of his new side-by-side in which he would explore the southern desert with his beloved brother, Dale. Brad was raised in Salt Lake City, but built his dream home in Huntsville amongst the mountains that overlooked Pineview Reservoir.
Brad also had the goal of getting a new puppy to be a new companion for he and Diane when they both retired. Four months ago, Pepper, the Springer Spaniel, joined the family. Brad would send out photos weekly of his new pup. She went everywhere with him, especially on the 4-wheeler.
Brad had a strong, and yet gentle presence and lived by the motto, “you may be a stranger when I meet you, but you will leave as my friend.” He was the glue in the family, setting up dinners and reunions, and always making the effort to connect with loved ones. We will miss seeing him tending to his beloved Dutch ovens, teaching kids how to cast a fishing line, and will always remember what it was like to be caught up in one of his bear hugs. Until we meet again.
