Listen to Obituary

Brad J. Wagstaff, a devoted father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away at the age of 61 after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.

Brad was born on June 18, 1964, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Walter Ralph and Joyce Maycock Wagstaff. He graduated from West High School in 1982 and soon after honorably served a mission in Indiana for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Following his mission, Brad built a meaningful career in the home health care industry, spending much of his life self-employed and dedicated to serving others.

Brad had a curious and adventurous spirit that shaped many of his passions. From a young age, he developed a fascination with collecting bottles, spending countless hours searching for unique pieces to add to his treasured collection. He also found peace and renewal in the beauty of Utah’s mountains, where hiking became a source of joy and reflection. A lifelong Utah Jazz fan, Brad held season tickets for more than 25 years, a testament to his loyalty and enthusiasm.

Brad had a deep love of Christ and was a life-long faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That deep love brought a new hobby of searching for and collecting photos of Christ which he shared on his Pinterest page “Light Giver”.

Above all else, Brad’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was being the father of his six beloved daughters. They were the center of his world, and he treasured every moment spent with them. He made it a priority to create special, one-on-one memories - whether cheering together at Utah Jazz games or enjoying performances at CenterPoint Theatre. These moments were not just outings, but lasting expressions of his deep love and devotion.

Brad will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his quiet strength, enduring faith, and the warmth he brought to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and connection will live on in all who knew him.

He is survived by his six daughters: Morgan (Chanse) Hansen, Mikell Wagstaff, Macey (Eddie) List, Mackenzie (Saxon) Jackman, Sadie (Landon) Gifford, and Montana (Jace) Turnbow; his five grandchildren; his loving mother; and sisters. He was preceded in death by his father.
