Bonnie Leigh (Slonecker) DeSantis of Kaysville, Utah, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, PA, passed away peacefully in Kaysville Utah on March 15, 2026.
Bonnie was born on April 14, 1944, in Greensburg, PA, the daughter of the late Melvin and Jane Slonecker. She was married in Scottdale, PA to Colonel Dom A. DeSantis, Jr. (retired USAF) the love of her life, on May 7, 1966. Bonnie was a wonderful wife and companion for 60 years, the mother of three sons, and devoted grandmother to six. In addition to raising three boys, she was also a Red Cross volunteer for many years during her husband’s active duty of 26 years. Bonnie enjoyed teaching English to the Japanese military wives and enjoyed shopping for Japanese antiques. Throughout
Dom’s active-duty tenure, they lived in Ohio, Missouri, Texas, Alabama, Virginia, Colorado, California, Japan, and Utah.
Bonnie is survived by her husband Dom, three sons: Dom Anthony III and wife, Gina of Utah and daughter Olivia, Stephen and wife, Rachel and three sons Jake, Chase, and Taylor of California, Justin and wife, Debbie and two daughters Danielle and Danica of California.
Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 Chapel Street, Layton, Utah. Friends may visit family Wednesday March 18, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd. A vigil with Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m.
