Bonnie Mae (Lau) Collatz, 79, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 in Ogden, Utah. She was born on October 20, 1946, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, to Everett “Bud” Francis and Theodora “Teddy” Elizabeth (Hires) Lau. She grew up in Hudson Lake, Indiana and graduated from New Carlisle High School.
She met her sweetheart, Terry Robert Collatz, and they were united in marriage on October 29, 1966, in Hobert, Indiana. They enjoyed 59 wonderful years together. She supported her husband through his 20 years of military service in the U.S. Air Force with moves to Florida, Guam, and, lastly, New Mexico. They primarily raised their daughters in both Clovis and Los Alamos.
Bonnie retired after many years of working as manager of a credit union. She and her husband spent their later years in Alaska before retiring and moving to Texas then back to New Mexico.
She enjoyed sewing, reading, and spending time with her family.
Bonnie is survived by her husband; daughters, Annette (Kenneth) Cordova and Elizabeth (Edward) Snow; granddaughters, Alline (Brayden) Snow, Mckenzie (Leo) Cordova, and Cassandra Snow; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Snow; and siblings, Kenneth (Karen) Lau, Donald (Christine) Lau, Nora Dawson, Philanese Granacki, and Everett “Buddy” (Linda) Lau Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents.
There are no scheduled memorial services at this time, as Bonnie will be interred at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date.
