Bobbie was born in Clearfield, Davis County, Utah to James Edison Miller and Willa LaMar Lythgoe Miller.  He was one of 4 children Boyd Lythgoe (Dora) of Sandy, Kaye Kizerian of Centerville, James T. Miller (Holly) of Farr West Utah.

He was raised in Kaysville and attended Davis High School where he graduated in 1968.  He was a student at Weber State College.

He married his high school sweetheart Linda Evans, they made their home in Layton where they lived for 45 years, returning to his family home in Kaysville in 2014.  Family was very important to Bob, and he is the proud father of three children that he loved fiercely.  Elisa Dawn Rutherford (Keven), Chad Bobbie Miller (Megan) and Joani Bree Ann Johnsen, Daisy, Kylee, Alism, Iviee, Jazmn and Athena.  He loved them beyond words.

He was a Layton business owner with his son Chad for 30 years and practiced his profession for 50 years learning mechanic skills from his father- in- law Ernest Evans.  Bobbie was a hard worker and struggled with the thought of retiring.

He loved collecting old cars and is the proud owner of many.  One of his favorite things was to drive the side by side at his family cabin, logging over three thousand miles in just two years.  He was an avid hunter, hunting big game and waterfowl.  He owned many hunting dogs in his lifetime.  He enjoyed working with wood.

Bobbie was and Eagle Scout and became a Scout Master in the Layton 8th. ward. He was an avid sports enthusiast. He coached little league football, and baseball, attending every event with his children and grandchildren.  GO UTES !!!!!  He also enjoyed music of all Genre.  He golfed at Swan Lakes golf course and was a charter member of the men’s golf association.   He loved golfing with immediate and extended family members, hitting a whole in one with his eight iron on June 14, 2011.  He enjoyed golfing at his winter home in Mesquite, Nevada, and the yearly golf tournament with all the guys.

Our Dad was a great man loved by his family and many friends.  He was gramps to the grandkids and Papa to Athena he had nicknames for each of them, Pooks, Ty Ty, K man, Days, Kylee Sue, Ali, Ives, and Jazzy and last but not least Princess.   He was our love, protector, our biggest fan.  He will always be with us.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family Tuesday, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Mortuary.
