Billie Lou Lund

April 13, 1929 — November 19, 2022

Billie Lou Lund passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2022. Mom your love, selflessness, and enthusiastic support for anything we were involved in during our lives will be deeply missed.

Billie was born on April 13, 1929 to loving parents Leona and Willard R. Blanch. She grew up on her family’s farm in West Weber with her parents, her brother, and two sisters. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Billie attended school in West Weber and is a graduate of Weber High School. After high school, Billie enjoyed serving as a volunteer for the McKay-Dee Hospital.

Billie married Grant F. Lund on May 7, 1948. They had three daughters. Billie had one granddaughter Alisha. Billie and Alisha were extremely close. She loved her family and was so proud of their accomplishments.

Billie was an avid bowler on many teams and won multiple trophies for her league play. She loved shopping, fashion, movies, dining out, and spending time with her family and friends. While raising her daughters, Billie taught classes in fashion, modeling, and etiquette for Classique Modeling and Finishing School in Ogden. She was also an amazing seamstress and completed numerous sewing projects for her children, friends, and relatives.

Billie worked fulltime for several years at ZCMI in Ogden as a Floor Manager. When Weinstock’s Clothing Store opened in the Ogden City Mall, Billie was hired as an area manager and worked there for the next several years. She then worked at Nordstrom’s Clothing Store as a sales associate and continued working at Nordstrom’s for 17 years. She loved working with the public and all of her wonderful co-workers.

While working at Nordstrom’s, Billie met five co-workers that became her best friends for life. After Nordstrom’s closed in Ogden, they met every Tuesday for lunch, traveled together, and celebrated holidays and birthdays with special events. Our family would like to sincerely thank Brenda, Jackie, Bonnie, Scotty, and Jean for being such amazing friends to our mother over the years. You have all brought her so much joy and happiness.

The family would also like to thank mom’s wonderful neighbors and friends, who as the years went by, watched out for our mother and helped with tasks she was unable to do on her own. Thank you all for your genuine kindness and your special friendships.

The family would also like to thank Enhabit Hospice, Enhabit Home Care, and the entire staff at The Lodge Assisted Living. Thank you all for your tireless compassionate care, companionship, and genuine concern for mom’s comfort and wellbeing. We appreciate the care you provided our mother in the last years of her life more than we can express.

Billie is survived by her two daughters, Linda (Bill) Panunzio and Cindy Lund; her granddaughter, Alisha (Dennis) Lin; and her sister, Mary Ann Hipwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant F. Lund; her daughter, Judy Ann Lund; father, Willard Blanch; mother, Leona Blanch; brother, Bud Blanch; and sister, Dorothy Roddom.
