Our amazing wife, mother, cousin, and niece, Billi Lynn Thornock passed away on January 28, 2026.
Billi was born on May 6, 1969, in Ogden, Utah. She was the daughter of Barbara Lee Powell and Ralph C. Stewart. She grew up in Liberty, Utah, where her love for the outdoors first took root. She graduated from Weber High School in 1987 and attended Weber State College.
On August 24, 1989, Billi married Craig Christopher Thornock, in Salt Lake City. Their story began fittingly on the ski slopes—skiing was the setting of their second date. They were inseparable and spent time together golfing, enjoying the outdoors, and traveling together.
Billi enjoyed skiing, especially with her family, and passed that love on to her kids. She loved camping and hunting, particularly spending time at North Fork Park in Liberty, and at her grandpa’s cabin in the high Uintahs. She loved to be in the mountains with her husband and kids as often as possible, fishing, riding ATVs, and sitting around the campfire. She loved and adored all her children, and she often went above and beyond to support them.
Billi was incredibly talented and creative. She was a gifted baker and cake decorator who made wedding cakes for several family members. She also created the most incredible costumes for her children during their childhood. A natural host, her home was often the center of gatherings, celebrations, and laughter. Her artistic abilities extended across multiple mediums, and she had a true eye for beauty and detail.
Later in life, Billi developed a close and cherished bond with her grandmother Grace, a relationship that meant a great deal to her. Known for her loud, contagious laugh and quick sense of humor, Billi was the life of the party. She had a way of making people feel welcome and at ease, and she loved bringing people together. She enjoyed the family parties watching the Green Bay Packers, and she cheered passionately and unapologetically for her team.
Billi was, above all else, a devoted and loving mother. Being a “super mom” came naturally to her, and her children were the absolute center of her world. She poured her heart into everything she did for them—cheering the loudest, supporting endlessly, and loving them more than anything. Her fierce dedication, warmth, and unconditional love shaped their lives in ways that will last forever.
Billi lived life fully, boldly, and creatively. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, adventure, and unforgettable memories that will continue to be shared by those who knew her best.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Billi is survived by her husband Chris, her children Colbey Thornock, Cassidee Thornock, Brittnee Thornock (Jack Neumann) and Braden Thornock (Ashley Sampson), her parents-in-law Craig and Susan Thornock, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and grandparents.
