PLEASANT VIEW- William "Bill" Charles Virgil passed away on Friday February 17, 2012. He was born on December 20, 1942 in Indianapolis, IN. son of Clarence C. Virgil and Catherine M. Woods.

Bill lived many places during his life, including San Jose, CA., Tucson, AZ., Longmont, CO. and Pleasant View, Utah. He married Colette Enfield on January 4, 1964 in Los Gatos, CA. They were later sealed in the Oakland LDS Temple.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held many different callings. Bill was a Ward Clerk, Elders Quorum President, Cub Scout Leader, a member of the Sunday School Board, and was a Home Teacher.

Bill served as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff for Santa Clara County, CA. and worked with Lockheed Aero and Space, IBM for 25 years and ended his working career with Mortgage Computer of Ogden.

Bill''s hobbies were working on cars and he always enjoyed going to the drag races. He was a member of the Corvette Club in California. He enjoyed boating, camping and having fun with his family.

His family was the joy of his life. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a very kind, generous and patient dad . He loved teaching his children how to fix things and to think through problems.

He is survived by his wife Colette Virgil, three sons, William C. (Lori) Virgil Jr., New River, AZ; Bryce A. (Kelly) Virgil, N. Ogden; Bradley L. (Jennifer) Virgil N. Ogden; one daughter, Dawn M. (Charles) Paul, N. Ogden; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marilyn, and granddaughter Alicia.

Family will meet with friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd.

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday February 23, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Ben Lomond Cemetery, 526 E. 2850 N., North Ogden.

The family expresses their gratitude to Hospice for Utah for their kind and gentle care given to our dad.
