Beverly May (Asay) Whitley passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026 from natural causes. She was born on October 13, 1930, in Price, Utah to Adelaide Mae Lawrence Asay and Amos Perry Asay. She moved to California as a teenager and ever since referred to herself as a ‘California Girl’. In California, she met her sweetheart, Bobby Leroy Whitley. They married in Reno, Nevada on March 11, 1950. On March 11, 1986, they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Beverly and Bobby began their family, who she always called ‘her tribe’ in Santa Clara, California. Years later the family moved to Hunter, Utah.
Beverly and Bobby loved serving together in the South Jordan and the Bountiful temples. They enjoyed traveling to many parts of the world and eagerly anticipated their next adventure. They loved many family get-togethers including the infamous Passover meal.
Beverly was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in various positions in the church. For a few years, she and Bobby lived in Kaysville, Utah loving the neighbors and especially the children. After Bobby passed, at age 84, Beverly served a Church Family History mission in Salt Lake City. The past 13 years she lived in St . George, Utah and loved the red rocks, the temple trips with the neighbor ladies, and friends from her ward. The family appreciates the love and care given to her by the Sunflower Assisted Living Center these past two months.
She is survived by her children: Beverly (Phil) Murdock, Becky Miles, Brian (Liz) Whitley, and Brent (Tracey) Whitley.
Beverly is also survived by her grandchildren, Miriam (Ryan) Higginbotham, Meredith (Brian) Beesley, Maureen Wilson, Ryan (Miranda) Murdock, Jared (Ragan) Miles, Melissa (Jared) Jensen, Matthew (Sandra) Miles, Mark (Arantxa) Miles, Marsi Miles, John (Sheena) Miles, TJ (Ashlee) Whitley, Sarah Whitley, Jonathan Whitley, Lauren Whitley, Myiah Whitley, Bobby Whitley, Kurstyn Whitley, 29 great- grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and several treasured nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bobby, her sisters Frances Elaine Hale and Dawna June Hendricks, and grandchildren Loren Jackson Murdock, Joseph Whitley Murdock, and Jennifer Rebecca Miles.
Funeral services will be held Saturday January 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Orchard Harvest Ward,
235 N. Bonneville Lane, Kaysville, Utah. Family and friends may visit Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
Interment will be held Monday January 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 E. Crestwood Rd., Kaysville, Utah.
