Betty Louise Davis Self

Betty Louise Davis Self passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2012 at the age of 80. Betty was born April 10, 1931 in Mobile, Alabama. She married her loving husband Murray T. Self on April 5, 1952. The family moved to Clearfield, Utah in 1967 where Betty completed a 31 year career working for the United States Air Force at Hill AFB. She retired in 1990.

Betty was an active member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Layton, Utah. She enjoyed camping, fishing, flower gardening and a good book. She was well known for her southern style cooking and hospitality.

She is survived by her husband Murray; her sons Michael (Tricia), Steven (Susan) and her three granddaughters, Jennifer, Charlotte and Laurel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Tora Davis; her sister Rita Lloyd and brother Lonnie Davis.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Rocky Mountain Care and the many dedicated friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 20, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Mountain View Baptist Church, 2585 E. 3000 N. Layton, Utah. A viewing will be held in her honor Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
