Betty Louise Roberts, 84, passed away June 27, 2025, in Syracuse, Utah. Betty was born to Miles Kimball Roberts and Elva Alice Dixon on July 19, 1940, in St. Anthony, Idaho.
Betty was the oldest of five children; her siblings are Dorothy (Merlin Reader), Billy (Connie), Jimmy (Kathy) and Elvan (Janet). She has two half-siblings, William and Randall (Jana), and seven stepsiblings, Gene (deceased), JoAnn (deceased), Ilene (Harold), David (deceased), James (Jo Ann), Barbara (Vern), and Emma Lee (deceased).
She married Monte Maurice Jones June 17, 1960, they had eight children, Anita (Mike) Smith, David (Marsha) Jones, Arlene Jones (deceased), Steven (Rhonda) Jones, Elaine Jones, Alice (Rusty) Compton, Betty Ann (Matthew) Stears and Brenda (Karry) Reardon. Betty and Monte divorced in 1985.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a homemaker most of her life. She loved and enjoyed sewing (matching) clothes for her children when they were little. She worked at Sierra Lingerie, sewing clothing, worked as a nurse’s aid in nursing homes and worked in the school lunch programs.
Betty is survived by two sons, David and Steven and five daughters, Anita, Elaine, Alice, Betty Ann, and Brenda. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Miles and Elva; one daughter, Arlene Margaret; two granddaughters, Meagan Buchanan and Alexi Beesley, one great-granddaughter, Elenor Reardon and one great-grandson, Rigby Reardon.
Also preceded in death Betty’s Best Forever Friend, Jean Lance. They met while both families were in the military.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Syracuse Mortuary, 869 South 2000 West. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Roy City Cemetery.
