1941 ~ 2021

Betty Gale (Steed) of Layton, Utah passed away in the early morning hours of August 19, 2021.  She was born January 29, 1941 in Ogden, Utah to Myron Jerro Steed and Elma Holbrook Steed.

She graduated from Davis High School in 1959, and married her high school sweetheart Larry Gale on June 6, 1959.  She gave birth to her son Wayne Ronald Gale on July 10, 1960 in Monterrey, California while her husband was stationed in the Army.  Kristine Gale was born two years later in May 1, 1962 in Ogden, Utah.

Betty worked for the IRS for many years and retired in1993.  After retirement Betty and Larry would spend the winter months away from the cold winters of Utah in favor of the heat of Yuma, Arizona. She and her husband would take their 5th wheel and were known to socialize with all of the other retirees to the tune of 50 to 60 people. She enjoyed preparing chicken fried rice or shrimp fry tended to be enjoyed by all.

Betty got her creative and crafting abilities from her father Jerro and she loved to make ceramics, scrapbook and could spend hours making homemade cards using her Cricut and massive stash of scrapbook supplies.

Betty loved to golf and bowl and was a friend to many.  She was always in fashion and could cook better than most.  She loved spending weeks in the summer having her grandchildren come to visit, and played tons of games like cards, dominoes, croquet, and badminton.

She had a great sense of humor and was a kind and caring human being.  She is very much loved and will be missed by all who knew her.  Other than family and friends nothing was more important to her than her cats, Midnight, Lala, Luigi, and Toolie, who were very much loved.

Betty is survived in death by her husband Larry, son Wayne and wife Sari, sister Donna Rudy and husband Bob and their family, brother Terry Steed and wife Kathy and their children Todd and Tara, sisters-in-law Eva Lynn London and daughters; Shelly and Jyl, Charlene Gale and her extended family, brother-in-law Steve Seper and children Shane Seper and Stephanie Wead, her grandchildren Catherine, Elizabeth and Jake and great grandchildren; Sylas, Lucy and Sebastian.
