Berniece B. Hardy 1923-2011

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Berniece Blakely Hardy, age 88, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2011 in Payson, Utah.

Berniece was born November 11, 1923 in Heise, Bonneville County, Idaho to Joseph Collins Blakely and Alice Collings. She grew up on a ranch and loved nature and animals. She married the love of her life, Charles H. Hardy, August 11, 1950, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple May 12, 1964. They were happily married for 61 years living in Layton, Utah for over 50 years. Later, they moved to Pleasant Grove, Utah.

Berniece''s greatest passion in life was her family. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved supporting her children and grandchildren. She worked at IRS in Ogden, Utah for several years. She was always gracious and had a lovely smile for everyone she met. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church with a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and His gospel, always encouraging her family to do the right thing.

Berniece is survived by her husband Charles Harold; her children, Mike (Bonnie) Hardy, Cheryl (Ted) Galovan, Jeff (Lu Ann) Hardy, Kathleen (Jim) Anderson; brother, Marion Blakely; and 17 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Gordon Farrell, infant son.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff of Comfort Keepers and Alpine Hospice.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Mt. Mahogany 1st Ward, 408 W. 1300 N., Pleasant Grove. Friends may call one hour prior to the services. Interment Lindquist''s Memorial Garden of the Wasatch, Ogden. Utah. Services entrusted to Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary.
