Bernard "Bernie" Austin Greene

NORTH OGDEN‒Bernard “Bernie” Austin Greene returned home to our Lord surrounded with love on December 27, 2023, at George E. Wahlen VA in Ogden, Utah. He was born April 24, 1942, to Biceye Rooks Greene Niblett and Emory Young Greene in Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Bernie joined the Air Force where he met his wife Sharon Price Talbot, they blended their family of six children together. Bernie honorably served in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1990 as an Aircraft Load Master for C-130 Hercules and C-141 B Star Lifter. Not long after, he served on the civilian side at the Eagle range as an Air Traffic Safety controller during training missions, he retired from his position at Eagle Range.

He loved family, had friendships around the world, traveling, fishing, hunting, collecting antique tractors and taking them to shows and tractor pulling with them.

Bernie is survived by his children, Michael (Carol) Lancaster, Theresa Greene, Bernard (Niki) Greene Jr., Jennifer Greene, and stepdaughter Kimberli Hilton; and 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his siblings, Hugh Greene, Cheryl Jones, and Warren Greene and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; his wife; stepson, Steve Talbot; and brother, Earl Greene.

Bernie would like to thank Dr. Hansen, Dr. Johnson and their staff and friends after a three-year battle with colon cancer and the loving care given by Jill Hunter and family, Kayleen Adams and Roger Gray.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Valley View Baptist Church, 2712 North Washington Blvd, Ogden, Utah. Friends may visit with family on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Ogden City Cemetery where military honors will be accorded. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers donations may be to the Valley View Baptist Church.
