Becky Romero

October 14, 1967 — May 18, 2025

Becky Kilts Romero, loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on May 18, 2025. She was born on October 14, 1967 in Ogden, Utah to Clair and Liliane Kilts—the fourth of five children. As the only girl in a family of all boys, Becky quickly learned how to hold her own. Wrestling with her brothers helped shape her into someone who was tough inside and out. She was resilient and never afraid to speak her mind.

She grew up in Hooper and graduated from Roy High School, later she attended Weber State University.

Becky dedicated her career to working in human resources roles at Hill Air Force Base, Camp Williams, and ultimately the Utah National Guard, where she worked for over 20 years. In 2024 she celebrated a well-deserved retirement. Her work ethic was unmatched, and she gave fully of herself—to both her career and her family.

Becky married and later divorced Ronnie Romero. Together they had two daughters, Hailey and Madalin. She selflessly provided for them and supported them in all their endeavors. She was their ultimate cheerleader. Her love for them was unconditional and she talked about them any chance she got.

In addition to being a devoted parent, she was a loving caretaker to her own parents in their later years.

Becky will be remembered for her canned salsa, which was a labor of love. She loved, and knew all the words to rock and roll music. Her reading glasses could be found in every corner of the house. She had an abundance of shoes, because according to her, “You can never have too many.” She had the ability to lighten any situation with her clever jokes. She also loved getting lunch with her friends. She will be greatly missed.

Becky is survived by her former husband, Ronnie Romero, and their daughters, Hailey Romero (Cameron Till), and Madalin Romero; her four brothers Jeff Kilts (Katie), Tim Kilts (Tammy), Mark Kilts (Leann), Matt Kilts (Hope). She is preceded in death by her parents, Clair and Liliane Kilts.
