Becky Sue Ashby passed away comfortably in her sleep July 11, 2025, following several years of health challenges. She was born to Sherrie and Glen Applonie on September 1, 1955, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She had many loves in her life including her love for animals which started from a young age and continued throughout her life. Becky’s pets were just like her children and brought her great joy!
Becky was an avid music lover to her core and if a song had a great beat, she was tapping her foot. Becky also had a great love for nature and being outside in the sun, from finding sparkly rocks on the side of the road to spending time beautifying her yard.
Becky loved things that sparkled and she was an extremely talented jewelry maker that loved to show people what she was working on and giving them as gifts.
Becky had an amazing sense of humor and often was the one to break the silence with something funny. She had a laugh like no one else and could often be found laughing so hard that it brought her to tears!
Becky also loved the people in her life. No one could go “mama bear” more than Becky! She always made birthdays, holidays, and life events special. Becky was loyal, sensitive, and cared deeply for those special people in her life, it is these people that are truly heartbroken at the passing of this special woman. Enjoy your stairway to heaven!
Becky is survived by her children, Allison, Ben (Cassie) and Carly (Shenom); grandchildren, Sirenia, Mac, Emmett, Gracie, and Ramona; her mother; and three sisters, Peggy (Jeff), Gina, and Amy (Dan). She was preceded in death by her father and two brothers, Guy and Gary.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Sunridge Assisted Living, Atlas Hospice and the many others that provided care, love and assistance to our sweet girl.
