Barbara Joan (Hata) Phillips

Barbara Joan Hata Phillips, born on February 12, 1931, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, passed away on August 10, 2024, in Bountiful, Utah. 

A dedicated mother and accomplished travel agent, Barbara raised six children while managing her career, ultimately becoming the owner of Executive Travel. Her love for travel allowed her to explore the world, making her profession a cherished part of her life.

She was married to Allen Keith Robertson, later divorced. In 1977 she married Paul Phillips and they were together until his passing in 2020. Barbara is survived by her children, Perry, Deborah McCarthy and her husband Jeff, Mark, Kitt, and his wife Laurel, and daughter-in-law Sue as well as 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, who were a source of immense pride and joy. 

She also leaves behind her siblings, James Ewing, Gene Ewing, Charles “Chuck” Ewing, and Katherine Ewing. 

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Tetsou “Harry” Hata and Myrtle Katherine Timmons, husband Paul Phillips, son Michael, daughter Colleen, and grandson Alex Robertson. In addition to her family, Barbara is remembered for her vibrant spirit and profound intelligence. 

Barbara's legacy of love and adventure will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
