Barbara Knudson Olsen

Barbara Knudson Olsen, 92, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2012. She was born on May 24, 1919 to Jesse Arnold and Ethel Kelly Knudson in Brigham City, Utah. She grew up in Brigham City and spent most of her life there. In her later years she moved to Ogden. The last part of her life was spent at Harrison Regent where she loved her new found friends.

She married K Barton Olsen on July 23, 1941 in Logan Utah LDS Temple. He passed away on October 14, 1988.

She was devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she served in many positions and especially loved her "Laurel Girls". Reading was her pastime. She loved dancing especially when she was younger and was fond of playing games. Mom and dad loved to travel with friends or to visit family. Mom thoroughly enjoyed dining with friends. Her family was the most important thing in her life.

Barbara is survived by her sons, David (Melinda), Ogden; Mac Allan (Karen), Cheyenne, Wyoming; and Nolan (Kristine), Fruit Heights; daughter, KayLynne (Laurence) Yorgason, Ogden; 23 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and her "adopted" granddaughter, Wendy Compton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, seven brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11:45 to 12:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Brigham City Cemetery.

Barbara loved and appreciated all of those who provided service and care to her.
