Barbara Nelson Jeppsen, precious wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away April 8, 2026 peacefully surrounded by her family.
She was born on December 2,1931 to George Nelson and Anna Rinderknecht Nelson in Logan, Utah. Barbara grew up in Logan, where she spent a happy childhood as the youngest of six children. She loved school, skiing, swimming, books, and time with her family.
After high school her education continued at Utah State University where she met and married her best friend and beloved sweetheart, Ray O’Brien Jeppsen, in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they had four children Brenda (Gerry), Stan (Colette), Jerolyn (Todd), LuAnn (Glen). She graduated from Weber State University with a degree in education and taught at Muir Elementary and Oak Hills in both 3rd and 4th grade. She was a natural teacher and a lifelong learner both in school and out. She also taught for several years working with educators with the USAIL program throughout Utah and several other states.
Barbara enjoyed adventure. Whether it was on the slopes, line dancing, in China, or another part of the world she came away with a story to share. She loved her more than 25 years volunteering at the Senior Center and delivering Meals on Wheels. Most of all she was a friend and a welcoming, joyful, thoughtful person and an example of kindness to everyone she met. She will be missed by her family, and friends at home and Church alike.
She is preceded in death by her Eternal sweetheart, two of his three sisters, and her five siblings. She is survived by her four children and spouses, thirteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
