Barbara Ann Gent

LAYTON - Barbara Ann Gent, mother, grandmother, sister and friend died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the age of 67.

She was born on May 5, 1944 in Modesto, CA to Bural and Lucille Ballew. She grew up in Northern California, with her sister Joan and brother Don.

Barbara met and married Kurt Lyman and had three boys and two girls. Kurt and Barbara later parted ways.

She enjoyed reading, shopping, crafts, and spoiling her grandkids. Grandma "Precious" believed her grandkids could do no wrong. One of her many loves in life was her Maltese, Precious. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Michael.

Barbara is survived by her sister Joan, brother Don, children, Kurt (Kara), Mark (Nina), Todd (Michelle), Barbara (Rob), Linda (Dan), seven grandchildren, Colby, Samantha, Haylie, Collin, Julia, Jordan, and Savannah.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 9, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist''s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.

The family would like to thank all those who provided the many acts of kindness during this difficult time. Our mom and grandma was a generous and kind person and will be greatly missed.
