Our cherished baby girl, Aspen Sicily Melle, given to us on May 28, 2025, passed away on October 26, 2025 at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Aspen was our little miracle from the very beginning. Starting out with only a five percent chance of survival, she gave us five wonderful months that we are forever grateful for.
We cherish memories of Aspen that are filled with so much love. Our hearts are filled with gratitude for each and every day we got to spend with our little fighter. From the very first time we got to hold Aspen, we knew she had a special soul.
All of Aspen’s nurses could feel her loving spirit and would always mention how beautiful she was, especially her little button nose and beautiful red hair. Aspen loved to be snuggled; when she was having a bad day, the nurses would have her family hold her, and she was always a much happier girl when she was being snuggled. There was also a feisty side to our sweet girl. Aspen knew what she liked and didn’t, and she would always let those nurses know when she didn’t like something. She really kept them on their toes!
Our family extends its deepest gratitude to the nurses who provided her with unwavering love and care. They will always have a special place in our hearts Our family is forever changed and grateful to have spent this brief, but incredibly meaningful, time with Aspen. She made such an impact on people’s lives in such a short amount of time. Aspen will forever be our little sis, ladybug, and our lucky penny. Aspen will be forever cherished and loved by her parents, Carson and Abbie Melle, twin sister Oakley, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins. Services will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Syracuse Mortuary, 869 S. 2000 W. Syracuse, Utah. We would like guests to wear purple, as that was Aspen’s color
