Arturo Luis Herrera

Arturo Luis Herrera passed away in his home in Clearfield, Utah on November 13, 2022, at age 75. He was born March 10, 1947, in Lumberton, New Mexico to Edumenio and Frances Gutierrez Herrera.
Arturo graduated from Chama High School, attended El Rito Northern New Mexico College, and Weber State University. He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1971 during the Vietnam War.
Arturo married Linda Herrera on April 12, 1969, in Layton, Utah. Together they have three sons and one daughter.
Arturo was a member of the Catholic Church.
Arturo was employed as a warehouse manager at the time of his passing at Hill Air Force Base. Throughout his life he served as a Counselor at Clearfield Job Corps, helping young adults get their lives back on track. He worked as a Deputy Sheriff with the Davis County Sheriff’s department for 10 years.
Arturo enjoyed watching sports, reading, fishing, and spending time watching his Grandchildren grow up. He loved attending any of their school and sporting events.
Arturo is survived by his wife, Linda; his children Artie Herrera, Jr., Anthony (Jessica) Herrera, DJ Herrera, Trish (Nick) Trujillo-Poe, along with seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brothers; Joseph Herrera, Eddie Herrera, Richard Whitlock, and his sisters Marie (Mike) Neri and Sally (Jimmy) Aguilar.
Arturo was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters; Anna Whitlock and Josie Nelms; sister-in-law, Bambi Herrera, and brother-in-law, Allen Nelms.
Friends may visit with family Friday, November 18, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Military Honors will begin at 6:00 p.m. A Vigil with Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m.
