Arthur Lyman Fenn
After a courageous battle with cancer our beloved Father, Arthur Lyman Fenn, 78, was called home to his loving Father in Heaven on November 6, 2012, where he was reunited with his sweetheart. Arthur was born in Pomerene, Arizona on March 31, 1934, the fourth child to Arthur Brown and Mary Roberts Fenn.
Arthur attended school in Arizona and Utah where he graduated from Benson Union High School in 1953. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force serving his country from 1954 to 1962. Upon completion of his military duty he attended Utah State University majoring in secondary education. Arthur loved teaching and taught in the Davis School District for 30 years. He retired in 1995 after working as a librarian at North Layton Junior High School for 24 years.
On March 27, 1967 Arthur married Linda Jones in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they created their life in Uintah, Utah. They were married for 22 wonderful years before she passed away in 1989 of cancer. Together they had 10 children. Later, Arthur was married to Carol Fenn.
Arthur was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many leadership capacities as he helped to build up our Heavenly Father''s Kingdom on earth. He served as a missionary in the Swiss Mission from 1960 to 1963.
He was always concerned about others and put their welfare ahead of his own. He could talk to anyone and was a friend to everyone. Arthur was a wonderful father, an avid reader, enjoyed the outdoors, and most of all loved spending time with his family.
Arthur is survived by his children, Stewart (Ronda) Fenn, Clinton; Karla (Corey) Lewis, Uintah; Kenton (Sheila) Fenn, Ogden; Celeste (Greg) Johnson, Clearfield; Sheldon Fenn, Ogden; Spencer (Angela) Fenn, Roy; Amber Fenn, Ogden; Dawnalyn (Andrew) Monson, St. George; and Kellie (Nathan) Bennion, Washington Terrace; and 20 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, a daughter, Sonya, his parents, one sister and two brothers.
Arthur will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. The family expresses appreciation to the caring staff at Apple Village, McKay-Dee Hospital and Haven Hospice for their tender and loving care of our father.
