Annie (Ann) Lue Rigsby Larson, 92, of Springville, Utah, quietly and peacefully returned to her Heavenly Father on August 7th, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Layton, Utah. She slipped into eternity with the same grace and dignity that she lived her life.
Annie was born, along with her twin sister Fannie Sue (Susie) in Georgiana, Alabama on April 15th, 1933, on the Saturday evening before Easter. On Easter morning her 2-year-old older brother, Donald, excitedly announced that the easter bunny had given him two babies for Easter! Her parents were William Ray Rigsby and Annie Valera Dozier Rigsby. A younger brother, James, was born 16 months later to complete the family.
Annie was raised in Montgomery Alabama in a loving family and spent every summer on her grandparents’ farm in Georgiana. The summers spent in the country were among her favorite memories and she loved her grandparents very much. She and her brothers and sister helped out on the farm and during her teenage years she worked in the tobacco fields where she learned to process tobacco, tying it up in bundles to be hung to dry. She earned $2 per day and used it to buy school clothes. She soon learned to sew beautifully and made many of her own clothes. She and Susie were inseparable growing up and remained close throughout their lives, even both marrying men in the military and moving out west.
During her senior year she met a cute young airman from Idaho, David Glenn Larson, while attending church with a good friend. Throughout the year they dated and were married 4 days after her high school graduation on June 1st, 1951, in Montgomery AL. After marrying Dave, Annie was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and they were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. She served faithfully in many callings throughout the years, always giving her best and her love in everything she did.
They moved to Idaho in 1951 and made their home in Idaho, Washington, California and Utah while pursuing Dave’s career in the Life Insurance business. They settled in Utah in 1975 and Springville in 1981. They loved the small town feel of Springville and enjoyed and loved their neighbors. Dave passed away in 2008 and she has missed him dearly.
Dave and Ann are the parents of David Ray Larson and Glenda Ann Larson Stout. Annie nurtured and championed each of them, along with her daughter-in-law and son-in-law and seven grandchildren. She was an expert seamstress and designed and sewed countless baby clothes, fancy dresses, quilts and even wedding dresses. She was also talented in crocheting, knitting, ceramics, porcelain and cake decorating and created many beautiful things during her life. Dave and Ann were always there to support countless sports games, recitals, theater events, mission calls, trips to Disneyland and Disneyworld and anywhere else their grandchildren needed them. Several of their grandchildren lived with them while attending school. They supported and loved their family and extended family. Family was their life.
After her children were raised Annie decided she wanted to go to college. She attended Utah Valley State College (now Utah Valley University) and graduated with an associate degree of Applied Sciences in accounting in 1983. She began working at the integrated circuit manufacturing plant, Signetics, in Provo Utah and worked there in the Quality Assurance department until the plant closed in 1992.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, all of her siblings, and her son, David, in 2020.
She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Stout (Ron) and daughter-in-law Patti Larson (David), seven grandchildren: David Larson (Ericka), Scott Stout (Jin), Jennifer Snapp (Terrence), Brett Stout (Cortney), Kristen Egerton (Dan), Eric Stout (Sherylee), Katie Roberts (Justin) and eleven great-grandchildren.
Annie’s family would like to thank all those who helped make it possible for her to stay in her home. Her grandson, Eric and his wife, Sherylee, lived close and helped watch out for her, take her to many appointments, kept her house neat and clean and visited often with their darling family. Her neighbors Greg and Dixie Wood, Jeff and Emily Dinsdale and John and Susan Coyne were exceptional neighbors that helped by watching over her as she checked the mailbox, performed snow removal for her, sent over yummy meals, and visited often to love Annie and make it possible for her to be comfortable in her home. We would also like to thank Community Nursing Services Hospice for their loving care of Annie during her final weeks.
A celebration of Annie’s life will be held in McCammon, Idaho at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint building at 403 W 16th St., McCammon on Saturday, August 16th at 12:00 pm with a viewing from 10:30 to 11:30 am.
