Ann Critchlow Rabe

October 10, 1958 — August 23, 2025

It is with deep sadness we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Ann Critchlow Rabe, who left us peacefully at home Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the age of 66.

Ann was born on October 10, 1958, to Robert and Clarene Critchlow in Ogden, Utah, the third of seven children. She was raised in South Ogden and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1977. She married the love of her life and her eternal companion, Brad Christian Rabe, in the Salt Lake City Temple by LeGrand Richards on October 4, 1978.

She followed in her mom’s footsteps and opened her own preschool, The Little Red School House, which she ran for over 30 years. She was constantly being stopped by former students who all loved and adored her as their favorite teacher. She also taught at the Powder Mountain Ski School and loved spending her time skiing with family and friends.

Ann was the proud mother of Benjamin (Kendra) Rabe, Jacob (Jill) Rabe, Blake (Taryn) Rabe, her favorite child and only daughter Nicole, and beloved grandmother to 15 grandchildren.

Ann magnified her many church callings and was loved by the youth throughout her life as a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She valiantly battled through recurrent medical challenges that resulted in decades of struggles with disabilities. She lived without complaint about her situation and held strong to her faith, never wavering. Mom loved, “If you are further from the Lord today than yesterday, who moved?”

She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and six siblings- Cliff (Chris) Critchlow, Kent (Marilyn) Critchlow, Cathy Johns, Steven (Cathie) Critchlow, David (Sarah) Critchlow, Amy (Darren) Wilde and two in-laws, Brad’s sisters, Lynn Rabe, and Marie (Lee) Crowton. Proceeded in death by her parents and in-laws.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Valley View Stake Center at 1589 East Gentile Street Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family on Friday September 12, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, Layton, Utah for all that loved Ann and her family.
