Anita Marie Gallegos Perry July 15, 1971 – September 25, 2024 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Anita Marie Gallegos Perry, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Born on July 15, 1971, in Ogden, Utah, to John and Martha (Jaramillo) Gallegos, Anita passed away on September 25, 2024, at the age of 53 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Anita grew up in Clearfield, Utah, where she graduated from Clearfield High School in 1989. That same year, she welcomed her first son, Jacob Alexander Gallegos, who would be the beginning of the greatest role of her life: being a mother. In 1991, Anita met her husband, Tyrone Perry, and they were married on January 3, 1997. Together, they built a beautiful family, welcoming two more sons, Tyrell and Jace. Anita’s love for her boys was boundless, and not a day went by that she didn’t speak to each of them. Her sons were her world, and she dedicated her life to ensuring they felt her unwavering support and love.
Anita loved her family fiercely and with all her heart. Family was always number one to her, and she was happiest when surrounded by those she loved. Known for her warmth and kindness, she could always be found chatting on the phone, catching up on family gossip, or treating herself to getting her nails done. Her home was a place of love and comfort, where laughter and memories were shared, and where family came first, always.
As much as she adored being a mother, Anita’s love for her grandchildren was where her heart truly shone. Roman, Carter, Mila, and Kyri were the light of her life, and she never missed a moment of their lives, attending every sports game, dance recital, birthday party, and special event. Her love for them was unshakeable, and they will forever carry the memory of her warmth, laughter, and devotion.
In February 2019, Anita was diagnosed with breast cancer, and true to her strong spirit, she fought and triumphed over the disease. Sadly, cancer returned in 2023, spreading aggressively throughout her body. Despite the overwhelming challenges, Anita never gave up. She fought with every ounce of strength she had, exhausting all possible treatments and always maintaining hope. Her courage and resilience were an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
Anita is survived by her husband, Tyrone Perry, her mother, Martha Gallegos, and her siblings: Trish (Terrance) Frazier, Chris (Mandi) Kawa, Dustin (Courtnie) Kawa, and Mandee (Joaquin) Gallegos Pearson-Richards. She leaves behind her three sons: Jacob (Lexi) Gallegos, Tyrell Perry, and Jace (Jaelynn) Perry, along with the greatest joys of her life—her grandchildren, Roman, Carter, Mila, and Kyri. She will also be deeply missed by her many nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, and countless other family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, John Gallegos, and her sister, Barbara Gallegos, who she now joins in peace.
Anita’s legacy of love, strength, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Her final wish was unity for her family, and she often said, “I love you foreva and eva,” words that will forever echo in the lives of those she touched. Anita’s courageous spirit and unyielding dedication to her loved ones will be remembered always. She fought until the very end, never giving up, and her memory will forever be cherished.
May she rest in peace, embraced by the love of her family, both here and in heaven.
