Anita Tracy Kelson

February 24, 1931 — November 17, 2023

Anita, a beloved wife, mother, grandma, great grandma passed away peacefully Friday November 17, 2023 surrounded by family at the age of 92.

 

Anita was born February 25, 1931 to Abe  and Clara Tracy in Yost, Utah and moved to Brigham City where she spent most of her childhood years and graduated from Box Elder High School.

 

Shortly after graduation she worked for Mountain Bell as a phone operator. After a few years, she moved onto the IRS and worked there until she retired in 1987. Her most favorite job was working part time at Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators where she worked for several years.

 

While working at Mountain Bell she was introduced to Dean Kelson who became the love of her life and eventually getting married on October 14, 1961. They were married for 63 years. Between the two of them they had eight children.

 

Anita was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church positions.

 

Anita was a person of many talents. Her cooking skills was second to none, filing the house with deliciousness. She was an excellent seamstress making clothes for her children, knitting, crocheting. Later in life making her precious dog Abby many dresses and coats. Her greatest talent was shopping.

 

Anita loved working out in her yard which was always covered with beautiful flowers. In her spare time when she was not working in her yard, she loved to read.

 

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Abe and Clara Tracy, daughter Debra, siblings, Melva Kunzler (Dee), Verla Jensen (Donald) brother Merlin Tracy (Deanna).

 

Anita is survived by her husband Dean, sister Darlene Pickering (Larry), eight children Rodney (Janet), Khristine, Jeff (Ronni), Randy (Jackie), Lisa , Brett (Shelley), Cindy (Boyd). Fourteen grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

 

Mom was the giver of the family, she will be remembered for many card’s on birthday’s $2 dollar bills, Easter egg hunts, Christmas parties, and Thanksgiving dinners. Mom was selfless, she was loving, who sacrificed many wants and needs to provide for her family. Mom was a hard worker who made sure her children had the best of her world.

 

Graveside service and Interment will be held Tuesday November 21, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. at the Brigham City Cemetery 300 South 300 East Brigham City Utah.
