Anastasia Nass OGDEN - Anastasia Nass was born in Sunnyside, Utah on November 4, 1917. She lived in Long Beach, California and Santa Barbara, California, but spent most of her life in Ogden and Huntsville, Utah. She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church and Philoptihos Society of Ogden. In 1944 with her husband, James, and her parents, Nick and Irene Malkos, she moved from Price, Utah to Ogden Valley where they bought land and ran a sheep ranch with her brothers James and Leon for many years. She was the mother and mother-in-law of Tom and Veda Nass, Jim and Pat Hagadorn, and Nick and Andrea Nass. She was the grandmother of Jim and Janet Nass, Christopher Nass, Zach and Melissa Hagadorn, and Alexandra and Marcus Viljoen. She was the great grandmother of Rachel, Sarah, James, Michael, Lucas, Nathan, Nico and Ben. Her younger brother, Pete, in the military for many years, lives with his wife Niki in Greece. She was preceded in death by her husband, James and grandson Jason. Anastasia’s family was her life, but she was also involved in the Greek Orthodox Church and many other activities. Her love of learning and her creativity in every aspect of her life influenced those around her. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. The following words were found in one of her notebooks: “To be afraid and not care that you are afraid is the courage of which we are made.” “I hope.” Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Transfiguration, 674 42nd Street. Friends may visit family on Friday at 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Huntsville Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
