Amy Lynn Wright King passed away surrounded by family on March 13, 2026, after a short battle with cancer followed by a massive stroke. She was born on October 1, 1974 in Ogden, Utah to Robert A. and Kay VanMeeteren Wright.
She married Cory D. King on July 29, 2016. After their marriage, Amy and Cory resided in Plain City, Utah.
Amy spent her youth in South Ogden. She graduated from Bonneville High School in 1992. Together with her parents, Amy was able to travel and site-see throughout the United States.
She enjoyed cooking so she advanced her skills with a degree from culinary school. She was responsible for many duties in the restaurant while working for several years at the Ogden Golf and Country Club. She spent her career working at the Internal Revenue Service for over 25 years - right up until the time of her passing. She also worked part-time at Maverick in Marriott-Slaterville.
Her interests included crafts, scrapbooking, and collecting Lego sets. Amy and Cory were avid San Francisco 49ers and Texas Rangers fans. They traveled frequently to see their teams compete in addition to occasionally spending a day in the stands of a Nascar race. She loved lighthouses and even gathered a collection of them in her home. She enjoyed the outdoors including the days spent together in her UTV with Cory. Amy loved family parties especially when they included a day at Lagoon. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she assembled a beautiful collection of Christmas trees, ornaments, and decorations. Amy had a fun-loving attitude and a joyful personality. The entire family will miss her dearly.
Amy is survived by her husband, Cory; and her four “fur-babies”; two sisters and two brothers, Kristie (Larry) Bitton of Henderson, NV, Scott (MariAnn) Wright of Uintah Highlands, UT, Pam (Greg) Seegmiller of Roy, UT, and Tim Wright of St. George, UT; her father-in-law, Shelly Ralph King of Hooper, UT; and several nieces and nephew and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her mother-in-law.
